About Clarabella Christie

Well hello there

My name is Claire and thank you for taking the time to visit my online store.

The clickety click of knitting needles and the hum of my mum’s old Singer sewing machine was the soundtrack to growing up at home as a child. My mum made our clothes and knitted our jumpers all six of us. I would say my love of making things and creativity comes from her.

I attended Glasgow School of Art where I studied printed textiles & surface design. From window dressing to prop making, from costume design to set design I have worked in the creative industries happily for years before creating Clarabella in 2007.

This is my collection of homewares and accessories called 'Hometown'. Inspired by the  architecture I see from my studio window in Dunfermline in Scotland.  The colours of this collection are inspired by vintage Vogue photography and my love of vintage printed textiles.

My prints are all digitally printed on high quality materials and depict the many beautiful and diverse architecture of my hometown. Everything is handmade to order by me in my studio.

I work from my studio in the oldest building in Dunfermline, the 15th century Abbot House or 'Pink House' as it is know, in the heart of the historic quarter.

I live with my husband Kevin and two kids Gracie(18)  and Joe(14).
